America’s First Offshore Wind Farm

Block Island, the first offshore wind farm in the United States is a 30 megawatt, 5 turbine project off the coast of Rhode Island. This project demonstrates a turning point in power generation in the US and is an example of people and industry coming together. Learn from those that were involved with the project – how they had the vision to go beyond “business as usual” and embrace the opportunities of the booming US offshore wind industry and how they dealt with the challenges of market entry.
