Mike Olsen has nearly 20 years’ experience working on offshore energy issues. He is currently Vice President, Policy & Government Affairs at Aker Offshore Wind (AOW), where his focus includes helping establish favorable policy and regulatory frameworks in emerging offshore wind markets in the U.S. Prior to joining AOW, Mike held several different roles at Equinor, including Senior Director, Business Development in the company’s offshore wind business. He was previously Senior Counsel in the Washington, D.C. office of Bracewell & Giuliani. Prior to that, Mike served for almost six years in the George W. Bush Administration at the U.S. Department of the Interior, most recently as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals Management. In that capacity, he oversaw a wide range of energy and environmental issues, including the development of offshore wind. Before joining the Interior Department, Mike was Director of the Office of Native American and Insular Affairs for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Resources.
