Bio
Kevin Ewing has almost thirty years of experience helping clients bring infrastructure projects online. Kevin focuses on obtaining required federal land rights, securing federal approvals and reviews, building the administrative record, and defending the approvals in court. He has been leading Bracewell’s team in advising Equinor on its offshore wind portfolio in the U.S., which has grown from an early pilot-scale proposal to multiple commercial-scale projects offshore New York and Massachusetts. He also advised Equinor on the $1.1 billion sale of a half interest in its U.S. offshore wind portfolio to bp plc and the structuring of a strategic joint venture for further development.
Kevin works closely with a broad range of federal agencies, notably at the U.S. Department of the Interior (e.g., BOEM, BSEE, and NPS) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, as well as federal officials at the White House Council on Environmental Quality and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation. He is known for his thoughtful and collaborative approach, working closely with technical experts and business executives to help in-house counsel support important projects and initiatives. According to Chambers US 2020, Kevin is highly regarded by clients who single out “not only his intellect and expertise, but also his ability to communicate and solve problems in a practical way.”
